The TABE test (Test of Adult Basic Education) assesses reading, language, and mathematics skills for adult learners entering GED programs, vocational training, or workforce development. The current TABE 11/12 version delivers scaled scores from 300-800 across five difficulty levels (L, E, M, D, A), placing test-takers into Adult Basic Education (ABE) levels 1-6 that correspond to grade equivalents from beginning literacy through advanced secondary.
The full battery includes Reading (50 items, 75 minutes), Mathematics (40 computation + 40 applied items, 105 minutes total), and Language (55 items, 55 minutes).
