Custom MetaData types are not database entries; instead, they are part of Org’s XML customization. As a result, you can’t delete them the same way you can Accounts, Contacts, or custom settings. To do so, you’ll need to change the metadata of the organization.

Use the call on ArticleType kav to create, update, or delete a Knowledge article version, where ArticleType is the name of the article’s type. To delete, for example, use ArticleType kav.delete ().

To deploy custom values in conventional picklists, you must use a deployment technique that directly leverages the Metadata API, such as Workbench, Salesforce IDE, or Salesforce Deployment tool The standard picklist field must be included in the ‘custom fields’ section of the package.xml before they can be deployed.
