The MEE assesses a candidate’s ability to analyze legal issues, apply relevant legal principles, and communicate effectively in writing.
While the MEE covers a wide range of subjects, tax law is not a primary focus. Common subjects include Constitutional Law, Contracts, Torts, and more.
Success on the MEE requires clear, logical, and concise writing, along with the ability to apply legal reasoning to fact patterns.
The MEE typically consists of six essay questions, each covering different areas of law.
Candidates are typically given 3 hours to complete the MEE, with 30 minutes allotted per essay question.
