You are not allowed to text while driving
You must stop at all times at a red traffic light unless directed through by a police officer.
You are allowed to overtake because the centre line on your side is not solid. Make sure it's safe to do so, though.
You can turn right, but you must ensure it is safe and that there are no vehicles coming straight through the intersection.
Only buses can stop in a bus stop. You may be fined if you park in a bus stop.
You have a red light for straight through and left turning traffic. Only vehicles turning right can go.
You have to judge whether you can stop or not. Yellow lights are carefully calculated to appear for long enough for you to stop if you are travelling at the speed limit in the wet.
Merging like a zip is the easiest and safest rule for traffic to follow.
You can also use your full beam headlights in urban streets with streetlights if you are not following another vehicle and there are no other vehicles coming towards you, although it's only recommended for situations where you can't see clearly ahead and should be avoided if possible. When using full beam headlights when overtaking, ensure you don't dazzle the vehicle you are following. Using the full beam headlights allows you to see if there are any obstacles in the lane while overtaking. Using full beams in snow or fog will reduce your visibility as the light is reflected back at you.
You should dip your headlights, not drive with them on full beam as fog reflects the light back towards you. Also, use a rear fog light, but only until the fog clears as it can dazzle other drivers.
You can pass a vehicle in this situation as long as you stay to the left of the yellow line. Your wheels must not cross the yellow line. This allows you to get past slow vehicles which would normally pull to the left to help you overtake, e.g. tractors.
