Nurses who want a license from the Dubai Health Authority usually sit the DHA computer-based assessment at a Prometric test center. Midwives and assistant nurses take their own versions. This page has free practice sets grouped by topic and worked explanations for sample questions. It also lists the exam facts taken from DHA documents and gives a study plan for the time before your test.

According to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Health Regulation Sector, with Prometric as the computer-based test provider, βDuration: 3 Hrs. No. of Questions: 150 Code: RNT0312 Fee: USD240 Pass Score: 50%β[1]
The DHA assessment checks that a nurse applying for a Dubai license has the clinical knowledge to practise safely. The Health Regulation Sector of the Dubai Health Authority sets it. Prometric delivers it as a computer-based test, and DHA describes Prometric as a network of 8,000 test centers in more than 160 countries.
The DHA CBT guideline gives these details for the Registered Nurse exam (code RNT0312): 150 multiple-choice questions in 3 hours, a pass score of 50%, and a fee of USD 240 per attempt that is non-refundable. The Assistant Nurse exam (ARN5061) and the Registered Midwife exam (MID5104) list the same 150 questions, 3 hours, USD 240 fee and 50% pass score.
DHA issues results as Pass or Fail only, through the Sheryan system, within 2 working days. After a pass, your registration certificate is valid for 1 year from the result date while you finish the licensing steps. You have up to 3 attempts. If you fail the third attempt, you cannot reapply for a DHA license for 2 years. Once licensed, nurses need 20 CPD points each year and can renew for 1 to 3 years.
Eligibility depends on your qualification and where you are registered. One DHA pathway lists a nursing degree from a course of at least 2 years, plus Registered Nurse registration in Canada, the USA, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia, with no experience required. Rules differ for other routes, so check the DHA Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements for your own case.

Prepare for the DHA Nursing Exam - Dubai Health Authority exam with our free practice test modules. Each quiz covers key topics to help you pass on your first try.
These are practice questions written for this site, not questions from the real exam. Each explanation shows why the right answer is right and why the others are wrong.
Question: Which examination must internationally educated nurses typically pass as part of DHA licensure?
Answer: A. DHA Licensing Examination (Prometric CBT)
Explanation:
A is correct. An internationally educated nurse gets a Dubai license through the DHA professional assessment. This is a computer-based test delivered at Prometric centers, and passing it is how a nurse shows DHA they have the clinical competence to practise.
B is wrong because the NCLEX-RN is the licensing exam used by nursing regulators in the USA and Canada, not the DHA assessment. C and D are wrong because OET and IELTS Academic are English language tests. They measure language skills, not nursing knowledge, so neither can replace a clinical licensing exam. The word 'only' in both options is a warning sign.
Rule to remember: the regulator that issues the license sets the exam, and in Dubai that regulator is DHA.
Question: Which model of community nursing focuses on the family as the unit of care rather than the individual?
Answer: A. Family-centred care model
Explanation:
A is correct. Family-centred care treats the family as the unit of care. The nurse assesses family roles, support, health habits and communication, then plans care with the family instead of around the patient alone.
B is wrong because an individual patient model puts the person, not the family, at the centre, which is the opposite of what the question describes. C is wrong because the biomedical model focuses on disease, diagnosis and body systems and tends to leave out social and family factors. D is wrong because a hospital-centric model is about where care happens, while community nursing works in homes, schools and clinics.
Rule to remember: when a community health question mentions the household, caregivers or family behaviour, pick the option that makes the family the client.
Question: How does the DHA require nurses to respond to rapid deterioration of a patient?
Answer: B. Use early warning scoring systems to detect deterioration, activate rapid response team when criteria are met, and initiate immediate interventions
Explanation:
B is correct because it covers the whole escalation chain. First, the nurse detects deterioration early with a track-and-trigger tool such as NEWS or PEWS. Next, the nurse calls the rapid response team once the trigger criteria are met. Then the nurse starts immediate interventions while help arrives, such as repositioning the patient, giving oxygen as ordered and repeating observations.
A is wrong because waiting for the physician delays care, and the bedside nurse is often the person who notices deterioration soonest. C is wrong because telling the charge nurse alone may not bring the right team quickly enough once rapid response criteria are met. D is wrong because documenting and continuing to monitor, without acting, leaves a deteriorating patient untreated.
Rule to remember: on safety questions, choose the answer that recognises, escalates and acts, not the one that only records or waits.
Start with a baseline. Take the free DHA Nursing practice test without notes and write down which topics you got wrong.
Work by content area. Use the topic sets that match the official outline. Use Fundamentals of Nursing for core skills and Medical-Surgical Nursing for adult care. Use Maternal and Child Health Nursing for mothers and children, and Patient Safety and Quality for unit leadership. Add Medication Administration and Safety and Critical Care & Emergency for the questions where patient safety matters most.
Learn from every miss. For each wrong answer, write the general rule in a sentence, not just the correct letter. Review those rules before each new set.
Practise pacing. The exam is 150 questions in 3 hours, so do some sets under a timer and leave no question blank.
Read the official documents. Check the DHA Online Exam Guideline for CBT and the Manual for DHA Professional Assessment for your exam code, fee and rules. Then book through Sheryan.
The Registered Nurse exam (code RNT0312) has 150 multiple-choice questions, and you get 3 hours to answer them, according to the DHA CBT guideline. The Assistant Nurse (ARN5061) and Registered Midwife (MID5104) exams list the same 150 questions and 3 hours. Prometric runs the exam on computer at its test centers.
The pass score is 50% for the Registered Nurse, Assistant Nurse and Registered Midwife exams. DHA reports your result only as Pass or Fail, not as a detailed score breakdown. The result is uploaded to the Sheryan system within 2 working days of your exam.
The DHA CBT guideline lists a fee of USD 240 for the Registered Nurse exam. The fee is per attempt and non-refundable. The Assistant Nurse and Registered Midwife exams are also listed at USD 240. Before you pay, confirm the current fee in Sheryan, because DHA can update its fees.
You have up to 3 attempts. The Manual for DHA Professional Assessment says that if you fail the third attempt, you cannot reapply for a DHA license for 2 years. Each attempt is charged separately, so it helps to find your weak areas with practice sets before you rebook.
After you pass, the registration certificate is valid for 1 year from the date of your result. In that time you need to complete the professional licensing requirements. Once licensed, nurses can renew for 1 to 3 years and must earn 20 CPD points each year.
It depends on your route. One DHA pathway lists a nursing degree from a course of at least 2 years, plus Registered Nurse registration in Canada, the USA, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia, with no experience required. Other routes have different conditions, so check the DHA Unified Healthcare Professional Qualification Requirements.
