AMCAT Registration Guide 2026 June — How to Register and Book Your Test
Free AMCAT Registration Guide 2026 June practice test with questions and answer explanations. Prepare for the 2026 June exam with instant scoring.

Who Should Register for the AMCAT?
The AMCAT is designed for fresh graduates and candidates with up to 3 years of work experience who are actively seeking placement at companies that accept AMCAT scores. You should register if you are:
- Final-year or recently graduated students in B.Tech, BE, BCA, MCA, MBA, or B.Sc programs looking for campus-to-corporate opportunities
- Job seekers in Tier-2 or Tier-3 cities who want to access hiring drives from companies based in metro areas without travelling for every interview
- Candidates applying to off-campus drives — many companies like Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, and Capgemini use AMCAT scores as the first filter for off-campus applications
- Experienced candidates switching roles — if you have fewer than 3 years of experience, an AMCAT score can open doors beyond your current employer's network
If you are still researching whether the AMCAT is right for you, read our what is the AMCAT guide before proceeding with registration. For a full overview of the exam structure and subjects tested, see the AMCAT complete guide.
When to Register for the AMCAT in 2026
The AMCAT is available year-round with slots opening on a rolling basis. Unlike board exams or UPSC cycles, there is no single registration window — you can register any time. However, timing matters:
- Peak hiring season (July–October): Companies ramp up fresher hiring after academic year results. Slot availability at test centers fills up quickly. Register at least 2–3 weeks in advance during this period.
- Campus placement season (November–February): Many engineering colleges hold on-campus AMCAT drives arranged by placement cells. Check with your TPO (Training and Placement Officer) — you may be able to take the test as part of a college drive at no individual cost.
- Off-season (March–June): Slot availability is highest. If you need more preparation time, this is the window to aim for. Your score remains valid for 2 years from the date of the test, so an early score can be used across multiple hiring cycles.
Once you complete registration, you can reschedule your slot up to 48 hours before the test (subject to availability). Cancellations less than 48 hours before the exam forfeit the fee.
Step-by-Step AMCAT Registration Walkthrough
Step 1: Create Your Account on amcat.in
Go to amcat.in (the official portal operated by Mercer | Mettl). Click the "Register" button on the homepage. You will be prompted to enter:
- Full name (as it appears on your government ID — this will appear on your scorecard)
- Mobile number (Indian number for OTP verification)
- Email address (all communication, including your admit card and scorecard, goes here)
- Date of birth, gender, and city
- Academic details: degree, specialization, graduation year, college name, and percentage/CGPA
After entering details, verify your mobile number via OTP. Your account is now created. Important: Use a professional email address (firstname.lastname@gmail.com style), not a nickname email — this appears on your AMCAT profile shared with recruiters.
Step 2: Complete Your Profile
Before booking a test, you must complete your candidate profile. This includes uploading a passport-size photograph and filling in work experience (if any). Your profile is visible to companies that shortlist you based on your AMCAT scorecard — treat it like a professional resume.
Required photograph specifications: JPG/PNG, at least 200×200 px, under 2 MB, clear face against white or light background. Blurry or incorrectly cropped photos will be rejected during test-day identity verification.
Step 3: Select Test Modules
The AMCAT has mandatory modules and optional domain modules. The core modules are:
- AMCAT English — Vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension. Read the AMCAT English section guide to prepare.
- AMCAT Logical Ability — Logical reasoning, series, data sufficiency. See the AMCAT Logical Reasoning guide.
- AMCAT Quantitative Ability — Arithmetic, algebra, and applied math. See the AMCAT Quantitative Aptitude guide.
Optional domain modules (Computer Skills, Automata coding, Finance, Marketing, etc.) should be selected based on the roles you are targeting. Adding more relevant modules increases your visibility to more companies — but only add modules you can score well in.
Step 4: Choose Test Mode — Online or Test Center
The AMCAT offers two delivery modes:
- Online (Remote Proctored): Take the test from home or any quiet location with a working camera, microphone, and stable internet (minimum 2 Mbps). An AI proctor monitors your session via webcam. You must be alone in the room, cannot look away from the screen, and must not use any external materials. The system check runs before booking — complete it to confirm your setup is compatible.
- Test Center: Aspiring Minds/Mercer | Mettl operates over 700 authorized AMCAT test centers across India. You take the test on a dedicated computer in a supervised environment. Preferred if your home internet is unreliable or if you want a distraction-free environment.
For most candidates with decent home internet, the online mode is more convenient. However, test centers are strongly recommended if you have experienced connectivity issues during online exams in the past.
Step 5: Pay the Registration Fee
The self-schedule AMCAT registration fee is ₹1,100 (inclusive of GST) for the standard package. Payment is accepted via:
- UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM)
- Debit card (Visa, Mastercard, RuPay)
- Credit card
- Net banking
After payment, you will receive a confirmation email with your order ID. The fee is non-refundable. If you need to change your slot, do so at least 48 hours before the scheduled time — rescheduling is free within this window (subject to slot availability).
Step 6: Book Your Exam Slot
After payment, the slot booking calendar opens. Select your preferred date and time. For test-center mode, select your city and the nearest available center. Available dates appear in green — grey dates are fully booked.
Slot availability during peak hiring season (July–October) can be thin at popular test centers like those in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Delhi-NCR. Book at least 2–3 weeks in advance if you are testing during this period.
Step 7: Download Your Admit Card
24–48 hours before your exam, download your admit card from the amcat.in dashboard or directly from the link in your confirmation email. The admit card includes:
- Your name and registration number
- Exam date, time, and venue (or online proctoring instructions)
- Modules you registered for
- Important do's and don'ts
Print a copy (or keep it accessible on your phone) and bring a government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar card, PAN card, or passport) that matches the name on your registration. Mismatched names result in being denied entry.
Once you are done and receive your results, your score will be valid for 2 years. Use the practice tests available on our AMCAT practice test page to benchmark your readiness before booking your slot. After the exam, check our AMCAT Career and Salary Guide to understand how to use your score for job applications.
