ACFT Communication & Radio Protocols 2

Question 1

Which proword means "I have received your last transmission satisfactorily"?

Accepted Answer

ROGER

Answer

ROGER confirms receipt only; it does not promise compliance.

Question 2

A lane NCOIC radios an instruction and the grader intends to carry it out. Which proword is correct?

Accepted Answer

WILCO

Answer

WILCO means 'I have received your message, understand it, and will comply,' so adding ROGER is redundant.

Question 3

Why is "OVER and OUT" incorrect radio procedure?

Accepted Answer

OVER asks for a reply while OUT ends the transmission, so they contradict each other

Answer

OVER invites a response and OUT ends the exchange with no response expected, so they cannot be used together.

Question 4

A grader missed part of a transmission about a lane change. What should they transmit?

Accepted Answer

SAY AGAIN

Answer

SAY AGAIN is the correct request for retransmission; REPEAT is an artillery fire command.

Question 5

In the phonetic alphabet, how is the lane designation "L-4" spoken over the radio?

Accepted Answer

Lima Fower

Answer

Military pronunciation uses Lima for L and 'FOW-er' for 4.
