What to bring to GRE?” is one of the most commonly asked questions when it comes to the GRE tests. To answer it, one of the things that you must definitely have is a valid I.D. It can be your passport, driver’s license and even your military I.D.   • It must be an original document because photocopies are not acceptable. You cannot also present your documents on any electronic device, such as cellphones.
  • It must be government-issued and recognized by the country where you are a citizen or permanent resident.

  • It must exactly bear your first and last name  as it was when you registered for the test.
  • It must have your recent and recognizable photograph.
  • It must have your signature.

You must have your printed confirmation email with you. It is the email that you’ll receive from ETS when you registered for the GRE tests.

If you are taking the paper-delivered test, you must bring three and four pencils because ETS will not supply them for you. It must be sharpened No. 2 HB pencils. Pens and mechanical pencils are also not allowed.

On the test day, you can bring a snack and a drink with you. Having a full stomach and staying hydrated will do wonders. Your brain needs the carbs and water, so you’ll be able to think clearly.

You should not bring any kind of accessory. It is because you’ll have to leave your things in your locker during the ETS exam.

If you are a student that is in need of financial aid, and you want to apply for the GRE exams, the Educational Testing Service offers a Fee Reduction Program. The program will base their aid on the financial circumstances of the applicant.

Moreover, through such a program, the deserving candidates will have a GRE fee waiver of about 50%. So if the GRE exam cost for the general test will be reduced, it will become $102.50, while for the subject test, it will be $75.
