I work full time (40 hours a week) and just registered for the MPJE. I'm trying to set a realistic study timeline before committing to a test date.
From what I've read, estimates range from 4 weeks to 16 weeks depending on background. My background is related but I've never taken a formal mpje course, so I'm probably starting at an intermediate level.
I've been using the MPJE practice test to gauge where I stand, and my initial diagnostic scores are around 60%. Also reading through mpje to fill in the theory gaps.
For those who've been through it: did you study daily or more intensively in bursts? Did your practice scores accurately predict your real exam performance?
Good thread. One thing I'd add: don't try to cram the night before. I did 4 hours the night before my MPJE and I think it hurt more than helped. Your brain needs consolidation time. Light review or full rest is better.
This is exactly the thread I needed. I sit for my MPJE in 4 weeks and have been second-guessing my prep. The mpje area you mentioned is definitely my weak spot. Thanks for the honest breakdown.
Same experience here. The MPJE practice test was what finally made it click for me — specifically the way it explains the reasoning rather than just giving answers. Took me 2 weeks of consistent practice but scores went from 65% to 83% by exam day.
