DECA’s events are divided into three main areas: Role-plays and Case Studies, Prepared Events, and Virtual Business Challenges. Role-plays test students’ ability to solve business problems in 10-30 minutes. They check if students can apply their marketing and entrepreneurship knowledge.
Prepared Events require students to work on projects for a long time. They might write reports or give presentations. This helps students show their skills in business and how well they can prepare for DECA.
The Virtual Business Challenges are online tests where students manage virtual businesses. They help students gain practical experience in different business areas. These events cover six main areas: marketing, finance, hospitality, management, entrepreneurship, and personal finance.
DECA competitions happen at district, state, and international levels. Students can choose to compete alone or in teams. This lets them show their skills, improve their business knowledge, and get ready for the future in business and leadership.
