BCACP Certification Exam Overview
The BCACP (Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist) exam is administered by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and contains 175 multiple-choice questions, with 150 scored and 25 unscored pretest items. Candidates have 3.5 hours to complete the test, which covers patient care, retrieval and generation of evidence, and system-based practice and improvement.
BCACP Eligibility Requirements
Applicants need an active pharmacist license plus either 4 years of practice experience with 50% in ambulatory care, or completion of a PGY-1 residency with 2 additional years of ambulatory care practice. A PGY-2 ambulatory care residency alone also satisfies the experience requirement.
