Counting each letter: B-E-N-E-F-I-C-E-N-C-E gives four E's at positions 2, 4, 8, and 11.
3. A train leaves city A at 60 km/h toward city B 300 km away. Another train leaves city B toward city A at 40 km/h at the same time. When do they meet?

Combined speed = 100 km/h; time to close 300 km gap = 300/100 = 3 hours.
4. How many times does the digit '1' appear in numbers from 1 to 100?
