QMA Insulin — The QMA Insulin exam is a state-administered competency examination required in Indiana (and similar states) for Qualified Medication Aides who wish to administer insulin to residents in long-term care and assisted living settings. It is administered by Prometric on behalf of the Indiana State Department of Health and covers insulin pharmacology, blood glucose monitoring, hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia management, safe injection technique, documentation, and scope of practice. Candidates must already hold active QMA certification before sitting for the insulin endorsement exam.
