  1. A cylinder has a radius of 4 cm and a height of 10 cm. What is its volume? (Use π ≈ 3.14)

    Answer: 502.4 cm³

    V = π × 4² × 10 = π × 16 × 10 = 160π ≈ 160 × 3.14 = 502.4 cm³.

  2. In a coordinate plane, what is the distance between the points (1, −2) and (7, 6)?

    Answer: 10

    d = √[(7−1)² + (6−(−2))²] = √[36 + 64] = √100 = 10.

  3. Two angles of a quadrilateral measure 95° and 110°. The remaining two angles are equal. What is the measure of each equal angle?

    Answer: 77.5°

    95 + 110 + 2x = 360 → 205 + 2x = 360 → 2x = 155 → x = 77.5°.

  4. A right circular cone has a radius of 6 cm and a slant height of 10 cm. What is the lateral surface area of the cone?

    Answer: 60π cm²

    LSA = π × 6 × 10 = 60π cm².

  5. Points A, B, and C lie on a circle. If arc AB = 110° and arc BC = 130°, what is the measure of the inscribed angle at C (angle ACB) that intercepts arc AB?

    Answer: 55°

    Arc AB = 110°. Inscribed angle ACB = ½ × 110° = 55°.

  6. A dilation with center at the origin maps triangle PQR to triangle P'Q'R'. If PQ = 8 and P'Q' = 20, what is the scale factor of the dilation?

    Answer: 2.5

    Scale factor = P'Q' / PQ = 20 / 8 = 2.5.
