  1. What number comes next in the series: 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, ?

    Answer: 96

    Each term is doubled: 3×2=6, 6×2=12, 12×2=24, 24×2=48, 48×2=96.

  2. If 5 workers complete a task in 8 days, how many days will 10 workers take to complete the same task?

    Answer: 4

    Total work = 5×8 = 40 worker-days. With 10 workers: 40÷10 = 4 days.

  3. What is the missing number in the matrix? [4, 9, 16] [25, 36, 49] [64, ?, 100]

    Answer: 81

    The matrix contains perfect squares: 2²=4, 3²=9, 4²=16, 5²=25, 6²=36, 7²=49, 8²=64, 9²=81, 10²=100.

  4. A train travels 150 km in 2.5 hours. At the same speed, how far will it travel in 4 hours?

    Answer: 240 km

    Speed = 150÷2.5 = 60 km/h. Distance in 4 hours = 60×4 = 240 km.

  5. What is the next number in the series: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, ?

    Answer: 21

    This is the Fibonacci sequence: each term is the sum of the two preceding terms. 8+13=21.

  6. If a rectangle has a perimeter of 36 cm and its length is twice its width, what is the area of the rectangle?

    Answer: 72 cm²

    Perimeter = 2(l+w) = 36, so l+w = 18. With l=2w: 3w=18, w=6, l=12. Area = 12×6 = 72 cm².
