The CET exam covers six major domains. DC circuit fundamentals form the backbone of the exam. AC circuit theory builds on that foundation. The exam tests your understanding of capacitive and inductive reactance, RLC circuit behavior, resonance frequency calculations, and impedance in phasor notation. Phase relationships between voltage and current are a recurring topic.
Semiconductor device questions cover the operating principles of PN-junction diodes, bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), and field-effect transistors (FETs). Digital electronics questions span combinational and sequential logic. Topics include truth tables, Boolean simplification using algebra and Karnaugh maps, flip-flop operation (SR, D, JK, T), ripple and synchronous counters, shift registers, and analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog converter fundamentals.
The communications section addresses modulation techniques (AM and FM), superheterodyne receiver architecture, antenna types and gain, standing wave ratio (SWR), and transmission line matching. Troubleshooting methodology questions test your ability to isolate faults systematically using substitution, signal injection, and signal tracing.
