A rectangular garden is 15 m by 8 m. How much fencing is needed to enclose it?
Answer: 46 m
Fencing equals the perimeter: 2(15 + 8) = 46 m.
A right triangle has legs of 3 cm and 4 cm. What is the length of the hypotenuse?
Answer: 5 cm
By the Pythagorean theorem, √(3² + 4²) = √25 = 5 cm.
The area of a triangle is 24 cm² and its base is 8 cm. What is its height?
Answer: 6 cm
From area = ½ base × height, height = 2 × 24 ÷ 8 = 6 cm.
A room floor measures 4 m by 3 m. How many square tiles of 1 m² are needed to cover it?
Answer: 12 tiles
The floor area is 4 × 3 = 12 m², so 12 tiles are needed.
A cube has a volume of 125 cm³. What is the length of one edge?
Answer: 5 cm
The edge is the cube root of the volume: ∛125 = 5 cm.
What is the area of a circle with a radius of 5 cm? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 78.5 cm²
Area is πr² = 3.14 × 25 = 78.5 cm².
A cone has a base radius of 3 cm and a height of 4 cm. What is its volume? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 37.68 cm³
Cone volume is 1/3 πr²h = 1/3 × 3.14 × 9 × 4 = 37.68 cm³.
