The GED Language Arts Test assesses your reading and writing skills, including grammar. You will need to read excerpts from a multitude of informational and literary sources, demonstrate your comprehension, make conclusions, and write coherently. The writing should reflect your ability to analyze two sentences, determine which statement has more compelling evidence, and clarify why the evidence supports your decision.

The GED language arts test takes 150 minutes, which consists of three parts. The first section contains reading and language questions and ends with the extended response (written essay) which takes approximately 45 minutes.
