What's the actual passing score for FITCO? Getting conflicting info
Been searching for the FITCO passing score and I keep seeing different numbers. Some say 70%, others say 75%, and the official website isn't super clear.
I've been working through "FITCO" searches online and the passing requirement seems to vary by state or version? Or am I overthinking this?
My practice test scores are hovering around 71%. Should I be aiming higher before I schedule my actual exam?
Also I noticed on FITCO - Fitness Test for Ontario Correctional Officer Applicants — are the practice questions usually harder or easier than the real thing? Trying to calibrate how ready I actually am.
Any recent test takers who can share what the real cutoff is?
The free fitco physical endurance helped me understand what the exam actually tests rather than just what the material covers.
Quick data point: I spent 5 weeks studying, 1-3 hours a day, and passed with a 76%.
The section on FITCO exam took me the longest to feel confident about. Eventually I just drilled practice questions until I could answer them without hesitation.
What testing center did you end up booking? Some of them have much shorter wait times than others right now.
Appreciate everyone sharing their experience here. I'm 5 weeks out from my FITCO exam date and feeling more confident after reading this. The consensus on study guide being the hardest section matches what I'm seeing in my practice scores — going to put extra time there this week.
Great discussion here. One thing I'd add that hasn't come up: sleep the night before is genuinely more important than one more study session. I went in fully rested for my FITCO and felt sharper on the study guide questions than I expected. Don't underestimate recovery time.
I failed my first attempt stressing about the exact percentage cutoff and honestly it didn't help me at all. The number varies a little depending on which version you're taking, but what actually mattered for me was knowing the material cold, especially the cardiovascular section, which I had totally underestimated. Second time I spent a ton of time on free fitco cardiovascular fitness practice questions and it made a huge difference.
Stop overthinking the passing score and just aim to actually know the content. If you're scoring consistently in the mid-70s on practice tests you're probably fine, but if cardio is shaky for you like it was for me, that's where I'd focus first.
