I just got my results back and I'm officially OCCT certified. Honestly didn't think I'd be posting this after I failed in February, but here we are. My first attempt I went in way underprepared — I'd skimmed a couple PDFs and figured my classroom experience would carry me. It didn't. Scored a 218 when you need a 240 to pass.
Second time around I completely changed my approach. I used a structured OCCT study guide and drilled practice questions daily for about six weeks. The big shift was actually timing myself — I was losing points not because I didn't know the material but because I was running out of time on the constructed-response sections. If you're prepping, find a solid OCCT practice test that mimics the real format, especially the writing prompts.
For anyone currently studying, the curriculum frameworks alignment questions tripped me up more than anything. Don't just memorize standards — understand how they connect to classroom application. Happy to answer questions if anyone's gearing up for the summer testing window.
