What's the actual passing score for CMRT? Getting conflicting info

Failed my first attempt and honestly wasn't sure what went wrong until I sat down and really dug into it. The passing score is 70% — that part's consistent — but what tripped me up was assuming my on-the-job radar experience would carry me through the electronics and troubleshooting theory sections. It doesn't. Those questions are way more specific than anything you'd encounter just maintaining equipment day-to-day.

Second time around I drilled the actual CMRT competency areas hard: RF propagation, antenna theory, signal processing fundamentals. Also used a cmrt practice test to find the gaps I didn't even know I had — turns out my weak spot was magnetron operation and TR tube function. Once I identified that, the prep got a lot more targeted.

The "conflicting info" you're seeing online is probably people mixing up CMRT with GMDSS or other NARTE certs. Stick to NARTE's official competency framework and you'll have the right target. 70% to pass, no partial credit weirdness.
