Anyone else studying for DCJS in the next month? Want to study together
Taking my (DCJS) VA DCJS Law Enforcement Certification exam in 7 weeks and trying to find people at a similar stage to keep each other accountable.
I study better when I have someone to compare notes with. Currently going through "lotus dcjs" and working on my weak areas — specifically around virginia dcjs.
My schedule: 90 min of focused study every weekday, full practice test on weekends. I review every wrong answer and try to understand the why, not just memorize the right option.
If you're in a similar prep window and want to:
- Compare practice test scores weekly
- Share resources that actually helped
- Talk through confusing questions
Reply here or message me. Doesn't have to be formal — even just checking in once a week helps me stay on track.
Where is everyone at in their prep?
I actually failed the first time by a few points. Total gut punch. But passed on the second attempt with a comfortable margin.
What changed: I stopped trying to memorize answers and started actually understanding the material. Specifically on lotus dcjs — I went back to basics and worked forward from first principles.
Also switched from reading to doing. Less time with the textbook, more time on practice questions with detailed answer explanations.
You've got this. The second attempt is always better because you know exactly what the exam is like.
Quick data point: I spent 8 weeks studying, 1-3 hours a day, and passed with a 81%.
The section on lotus dcjs took me the longest to feel confident about. Eventually I just drilled practice questions until I could answer them without hesitation.
What testing center did you end up booking? Some of them have much shorter wait times than others right now.
