Finally passed IGNITE after two attempts — here's what actually helped

So I just got my results back yesterday and I passed. Honestly had to sit with it for a minute because I failed back in February and was starting to wonder if this certification was just not meant for me. First attempt I went in pretty confident — I'd been in the field for three years and figured that would carry me. Scored a 71 when I needed a 75. Humbling doesn't even cover it.

What changed the second time around was being way more systematic. I built a 6-week study schedule, spent the first two weeks just doing an IGNITE practice test every other day to find my weak spots (mostly the compliance and regulatory sections, which I'd totally underestimated), then drilled those areas specifically. I also found a decent IGNITE study guide that broke down the domain weightings, which helped me stop wasting time on stuff I already knew cold.

My biggest exam tips: don't skip the scenario-based questions in practice sets, and give yourself at least 90 minutes for real timed simulations. The pacing on the actual exam caught me off guard the first time. Happy to answer questions if anyone's prepping right now.

Two attempts is nothing to be embarrassed about — I know people who took it three times. The scenario questions are brutal if you haven't seen the format before. My advice is to not just check whether your practice answers are right or wrong, but actually read every explanation for the ones you missed. That's where the real learning happens. Took me a while to stop skipping that step.

Congrats! This is really encouraging to read. I'm scheduled for next month and the compliance section is exactly where I'm struggling too. Did you find one particular study guide more useful than others, or was it more about repetition with practice questions? I've been doing about an hour a day but wondering if I need to ramp that up closer to test day.

The pacing thing is SO real. I finished my first practice test with 20 minutes to spare and thought I was fine. On the actual exam I was rushing at the end. Timed simulations are non-negotiable prep. Congrats on passing!
