Failed IGNITE exam twice — what study guide actually helped you pass?

So I've been trying to get my IGNITE certification for about six months now and I'm honestly starting to lose confidence. First attempt I scored a 71, needed a 75 to pass. Second attempt last month I got a 73 — closer, but still not there. I'm spending maybe 8-10 hours a week studying but clearly something isn't clicking.

The material I've been using feels pretty generic. I bought one of those thick prep books but it doesn't really match the question style on the actual exam. A coworker mentioned she used an IGNITE practice test bank online and said the questions were way closer to what showed up on test day. Has anyone found a specific resource that actually mirrors the real exam format? I'm particularly struggling with the compliance and regulatory sections.

I have my third attempt scheduled for mid-July, so I have about six weeks. If anyone has exam tips or a study guide they'd actually recommend — not just the official materials — I'd really appreciate it. Feeling pretty defeated right now but not ready to give up.

I was in almost the exact same spot last year. What finally worked for me was ditching the book and doing timed IGNITE practice test sets every single day for three weeks. Like, 25 questions, 30 minutes, then reviewing every wrong answer immediately. The repetition builds pattern recognition. I went from a 72 to an 81 on my next attempt. The compliance section is brutal — make sure you know the difference between the regulatory tiers cold.

Honestly the official study guide is kind of useless on its own. It tells you what topics are covered but doesn't really teach you how the questions are framed. I used a combination of a third-party prep course plus flashcards I made myself for the terminology-heavy sections. Also — how are you doing on time? I found a lot of people aren't actually struggling with the content, they're running out of time on section 3.

Six weeks is plenty of time, don't stress. Focus your last two weeks only on weak areas — stop reviewing stuff you already know. That's the biggest exam tip I got from my instructor and it actually made a huge difference. You're already close to passing.
