TCC online vs in-person exam — any difference in difficulty?

I have the option of taking my (TCC) Texas Counselor Certification exam online at home or going to a testing center. Trying to figure out which is better for me.

Arguments for online:
- No commute stress
- Familiar environment
- More flexible scheduling

Arguments for testing center:
- No home distractions
- More controlled environment
- Better equipment potentially

My main concern with the online version is proctoring — I've heard some certification exams have very strict rules about what's allowed in the room. One wrong move and you're flagged.

Has anyone taken TCC both ways? Or specifically the online version? How was the experience? And does the difficulty or question format actually differ based on how you take it?

Also — any issues with the "TCC" type content being harder in one format vs the other?

I actually failed the first time by a few points. Total gut punch. But passed on the second attempt with a comfortable margin.

What changed: I stopped trying to memorize answers and started actually understanding the material. Specifically on TCC exam — I went back to basics and worked forward from first principles.

Also switched from reading to doing. Less time with the textbook, more time on practice questions with detailed answer explanations.

You've got this. The second attempt is always better because you know exactly what the exam is like.
