Applied for a BART station agent job and just got called in for the written exam phase. No idea what to expect. Has anyone here gone through this recently?
I've done customer service work for 3 years but nothing transit-specific. The job posting mentioned basic math, reading comprehension, and situational judgment. Is there anything else I should be preparing for?
I have about 2 weeks before the exam date. Trying to figure out the best way to split my study time across those sections.
The situational judgment questions were the ones I found hardest. They give you a customer scenario and you pick the best response. Focus on de-escalation and following procedure.
Went through BART hiring last year. The math section is basic — percentages, reading fare tables, making change. Nothing advanced.
Reading comprehension had passages about transit rules and policies. Read carefully and don't bring outside knowledge — answer based on what the passage says.
Whole process took about 2 hours for me. Bring photo ID and show up 15 minutes early. Good luck — BART is a solid job.
