Finally passed BART exam after two attempts — here's what actually helped
So I finally got my BART certification last week after failing the first time back in February. Honestly I was pretty devastated after that first attempt because I thought I'd studied enough, but I completely underestimated how tricky the operational scenario questions were. Scored a 71 when I needed a 75.
What turned things around for me was actually slowing down and doing timed practice sections instead of just reading through my notes. I found a solid BART practice test online that had questions formatted really similarly to the real thing — that made a huge difference for getting comfortable with how they phrase stuff. Combined with a decent study guide that broke down the rules-of-the-road and train handling sections, I got from a 71 to an 82 in about six weeks of studying maybe 45 minutes a day.
Anyone else out there prepping right now? Happy to share what specific topics to focus on — there are definitely a few areas that show up way more than you'd expect. The traction power and emergency procedures sections especially caught me off guard the first time.
