Failed my banking exam twice — what am I missing in my study approach?
Okay so I'm honestly frustrated and a little embarrassed to even post this. I've taken the banking certification exam twice now and both times I've landed in the 68-71% range. I need a 75 to pass and it feels like I'm just barely missing it every single time. I've been using a Banking practice test site and reading through a study guide my coworker lent me, but something isn't clicking with the investment banking and capital markets sections specifically.
My timeline is tight — I have to pass before my performance review in mid-July, so I've got about 6 weeks. I'm putting in maybe 1.5 hours a night after work. The Banking Investment Banking practice tests have been helpful for identifying weak spots, but I feel like I'm memorizing answers instead of actually understanding the concepts. Has anyone else hit this wall? What actually moved the needle for you?
Any exam tips from people who've been through this would be genuinely appreciated. Specifically struggling with DCF valuation and regulatory capital requirements if that helps narrow it down.
