Anyone found good free CMP study resources besides the obvious ones?

I've already gone through the standard "CMP" results on Google and most of it is just selling prep courses. Looking for actual free resources.

What I've tried:
- Practice tests here (solid, especially for CMP - Certified Mortgage Processor)
- A few YouTube channels but the quality is all over the place
- Reddit threads from 2+ years ago (some outdated)

What I haven't tried yet:
- The official CMP study guide — is it actually worth reading cover to cover?
- Library resources — anyone actually found useful materials there?
- Specific YouTube channels that cover CMP exam well

I don't mind paying for something that's genuinely better than free, but I want to max out free options first. Budget is tight.

What resources did you use that you'd actually recommend?

If you're looking for a starting point, the free cmp mortgage loan origination processing is worth trying — the questions closely match what you'll see on test day.

Passed CMP 3 months ago. Happy to share what I remember.

On the "CMP exam" stuff specifically — I found the practice tests here were actually harder than the real exam on those questions. Which was great because going in I felt more prepared than I needed to be.

The time pressure is real though. I came in with maybe 8 minutes to spare and that was after skipping the ones I wasn't sure about and coming back.

Don't try to cram the night before. Seriously. Last-minute stress makes you second-guess things you actually know.

Failed first attempt, came back to this thread. The consensus on cmp practice test being the make-or-break area is right. Focusing almost exclusively on applied questions this time around.

The advice about understanding why wrong answers are wrong — not just memorizing right ones — is genuinely the best CMP advice in this thread. Rebuilt my prep around that and it made a real difference.

Just passed mine last month so hopefully this helps. The thing that actually clicked for me was drilling down into specific topic areas instead of just doing random practice tests over and over. Like I spent a whole weekend on cmp/questions/conventional loan programs and secondary market because that stuff kept tripping me up and honestly it made a huge difference on the real exam.

Beyond that, the NAMP website has some free stuff buried in it that most people don't find, and I'd recommend not skipping the glossary review even if it feels tedious. It's boring but the exam loves to test definitions in tricky ways. Good luck, you've got this.

Honestly the biggest thing that changed my studying was stopping myself from just circling the right answer and moving on. I'd go through a practice test and when I got something wrong, I'd figure out exactly why each wrong answer was wrong, not just why the right one was right. Sounds tedious but it's way faster than re-reading the same material over and over.

For free stuff specifically, the CFPB website has a ton of actual regulatory language that shows up in the exam, and it didn't cost me anything to just read through their mortgage servicing guides. Wasn't exciting reading but it filled in gaps that no prep course ever explained clearly. Also if you can find old forum threads where people talk about what tripped them up on test day, those are gold.
