What does Faraday's Law of electromagnetic induction state?
Answer: An EMF is induced in a conductor when the magnetic flux through it changes
Faraday's Law states that the induced EMF in a circuit is proportional to the rate of change of magnetic flux through the circuit.
What is the difference between alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC)?
Answer: AC periodically reverses direction; DC flows in one constant direction
In AC, the current direction alternates periodically, while in DC the current flows continuously in one direction.
The phenomenon where light bends as it passes from one medium to another is called:
Answer: Refraction
Refraction is the bending of a wave as it crosses the boundary between two media with different wave speeds.
Snell's Law relates which two quantities at the interface between two media?
Answer: The angles of incidence and refraction and the refractive indices of the two media
Snell's Law states n1 sin θ1 = n2 sin θ2, relating the refractive indices and angles of incidence and refraction.
What type of electromagnetic wave has the highest frequency?
Answer: Gamma rays
Gamma rays have the highest frequency (and shortest wavelength) in the electromagnetic spectrum.
A capacitor stores energy in the form of:
Answer: An electric field between its plates
A capacitor stores energy as an electric field established between its charged plates.
