CDP DevOps Culture & Agile Practices Flashcards

What is the primary cultural shift DevOps promotes between development and operations teams?

Answer: Shared responsibility and collaboration across the entire software lifecycle

DevOps breaks down silos by fostering a culture of shared ownership, where both dev and ops collaborate throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

In Agile/DevOps, what does a 'retrospective' meeting primarily focus on?

Answer: Reviewing what went well and what to improve in the previous iteration

A retrospective is a team meeting held after each sprint or release to reflect on processes and identify actionable improvements.

Which Agile metric measures the amount of work a team completes during a single sprint?

Answer: Velocity

Velocity measures the total story points or work units completed in a sprint, helping teams forecast future capacity.

What does 'shift-left' mean in the context of DevOps testing practices?

Answer: Introducing testing earlier in the software development lifecycle

Shift-left means incorporating testing, security, and quality checks earlier in the development pipeline rather than waiting until the end.

Which DevOps practice involves automating the entire software release process from code commit to production?

Answer: Continuous Delivery (CD)

Continuous Delivery automates the release pipeline so software can be deployed to production at any time with minimal manual intervention.

What is a 'blameless post-mortem' in DevOps culture?

Answer: An incident review focused on systemic improvements rather than individual fault

A blameless post-mortem analyzes the root causes of an incident without assigning personal blame, fostering psychological safety and systemic learning.
