Question 4

A child tells you something that suggests abuse. How should you respond?

Accepted Answer

Stay calm, listen, reassure the child that it is not their fault, and report as required without investigating

Answer

Remain calm and supportive and avoid leading questions. Never promise secrecy, and make the required report to protect the child.

Question 5

Which is an example of child neglect?

Accepted Answer

Repeatedly failing to provide adequate food, clothing, supervision, or medical care

Answer

Neglect is a persistent failure to meet a child's basic physical, medical, educational, or emotional needs.
