  1. You see: K=3, L=K×K, M=L+K. What is M?

    Answer: 12

    L = 3 × 3 = 9, then M = 9 + 3 = 12.

  2. A display shows A=16, B=A÷4, C=A-B. What is C?

    Answer: 12

    B = 16 ÷ 4 = 4, then C = 16 - 4 = 12.

  3. Given S=5, T=S+5, U=T×S. What is U-S?

    Answer: 45

    T = 10, U = 10 × 5 = 50, U - S = 50 - 5 = 45.

  4. Memorize: R=8, Q=R÷2, P=Q+R+Q. What is P?

    Answer: 16

    Q = 8 ÷ 2 = 4, then P = 4 + 8 + 4 = 16.

  5. Given E=7, F=E+1, G=F×E. What is G-E?

    Answer: 49

    F = 8, G = 8 × 7 = 56, G - E = 56 - 7 = 49.

  6. You are given: X=20, Y=X÷4, Z=Y×Y. What is Z+Y?

    Answer: 30

    Y = 20 ÷ 4 = 5, Z = 5 × 5 = 25, Z + Y = 25 + 5 = 30.

  7. Variables shown: A=3, B=A+A, C=B×A, D=C-B. What is D?

    Answer: 12

    B = 6, C = 6 × 3 = 18, D = 18 - 6 = 12.
