  1. What is the total resistance of two 100Ω resistors connected in parallel?

    Answer: 50Ω

    For two equal resistors in parallel: R_total = R ÷ 2 = 100 ÷ 2 = 50Ω. The general formula is 1/R_total = 1/R1 + 1/R2.

  2. What does a capacitor do in a circuit?

Answer: Store energy in an electric field

A capacitor stores electrical energy in an electric field between two conducting plates separated by an insulating material (dielectric). It can charge and discharge rapidly.

  3. What is the unit of electrical resistance?

    Answer: Ohm

Electrical resistance is measured in ohms (Ω), named after Georg Simon Ohm. One ohm is the resistance that allows one ampere of current to flow when one volt is applied.

  4. What is the purpose of a diode?

Answer: Allow current to flow in only one direction

A diode is a semiconductor device that allows current to flow in only one direction (forward bias) and blocks it in the reverse direction. It acts as a one-way valve for electricity.

  5. If a 12V battery is connected to a 4Ω resistor, how much current flows?

    Answer: 3A

    Using Ohm's Law: I = V ÷ R = 12 ÷ 4 = 3 amperes.

  6. What is the function of a transformer?

Answer: Change voltage levels in AC circuits

A transformer uses electromagnetic induction to change (step up or step down) AC voltage levels. It consists of two coils of wire wound around a shared magnetic core.
