Total marbles = 100, and 40 are blue, so blue percent = 40/100 = 40%.
Tom earns $12 per hour and worked 35 regular hours plus 4 overtime hours at 1.5× pay. What are his total earnings?
Answer: $492
Regular pay: 35 × $12 = $420; overtime: 4 × $18 = $72; total = $492.
A pool holds 6000 gallons and drains at 150 gallons per hour. After how many hours will it be 1/4 full?
