  1. In a 3×3 matrix, each row contains three shapes: circle, square, triangle. Each column also contains each shape exactly once. The top-left is circle, top-middle is square, middle-left is square, middle-middle is triangle. What is in the bottom-right corner?

    Answer: Circle

Each row and column must contain each shape once. Working through the logic, the bottom-right must be circle to satisfy both the row and column constraints.

  2. An officer is looking at a figure folding pattern. A flat cross-shaped net is folded into a cube. The top face of the cross is red. When folded, which face is OPPOSITE the red face?

Answer: The bottom face of the cross

In a standard cross net, the face directly above the center folds to the top of the cube, and the face at the opposite end folds to the bottom — making them opposite faces.

  3. Five officers stand in a row. Their badge numbers follow a specific visual pattern on a number line: 5, 10, 20, 40, ? What is the next badge number in this visual sequence?

    Answer: 80

    Each number doubles: 5 × 2 = 10, 10 × 2 = 20, 20 × 2 = 40, 40 × 2 = 80.

  4. In a figure, there is a large circle containing a smaller circle. The smaller circle is always in the upper-right quadrant of the large circle. In the next figure in the sequence, the small circle has moved 90° clockwise. Where is it now?

    Answer: Lower-right quadrant

Moving 90° clockwise from upper-right places the small circle in the lower-right quadrant.

  5. A sequence of figures shows: 1 black dot, 3 black dots, 6 black dots, 10 black dots, ? How many black dots are in the next figure?

    Answer: 15

    The differences between terms are +2, +3, +4, +5 — so the next difference is +5, giving 10 + 5 = 15.

  6. In a 2×2 figure matrix: Top-left has a large black square; top-right has a large black circle; bottom-left has a small black square; bottom-right is empty. What completes the pattern?

    Answer: A small black circle

The pattern shows: large shapes in the top row, small shapes in the bottom row; square on the left, circle on the right. Bottom-right must be a small circle — and since the top circle is black, the small circle should also be black.
