    Answer: 9.67

    Old sum = 5×10=50; new sum = 50+8=58; new mean = 58/6 ≈ 9.67.

  2. A pie chart shows that 25% of expenses are on food. If total expenses are Rs. 12,000, how much is spent on food?

    Answer: Rs. 3,000

    Food expenditure = 25% of 12,000 = 0.25 × 12,000 = Rs. 3,000.

  3. The mode of the data set {3, 5, 3, 7, 5, 3, 8} is:

    Answer: 3

    Mode is the most frequently occurring value; 3 appears three times, more than any other value.

  4. In a bar graph, the sales for Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr are 40, 60, 50, 70 units respectively. What is the total sales for the quarter Jan-Mar?
