  1. The range of the data {15, 22, 8, 31, 19, 27} is:

    Answer: 23

    Range = Maximum − Minimum = 31 − 8 = 23.

  2. A table shows that Company A's revenue is Rs. 500 crore and Company B's is Rs. 300 crore. What fraction of total revenue belongs to Company B?

    Answer: 3/8

    Total = 500+300 = 800; Company B's fraction = 300/800 = 3/8.

  3. If the probability of an event occurring is 0.35, what is the probability of it NOT occurring?

    Answer: 0.65

    Probability of not occurring = 1 − 0.35 = 0.65.

  4. The arithmetic mean of 10 numbers is 45. If each number is increased by 5, what is the new mean?

    Answer: 50

    When a constant is added to all values, the mean also increases by that constant: 45+5=50.

  5. In a survey of 200 people, 120 prefer tea and 80 prefer coffee. What percentage prefers coffee?

    Answer: 40%

    Coffee preference = 80/200 × 100 = 40%.

  6. A bar chart shows expenses over 4 months: Jan=Rs.500, Feb=Rs.700, Mar=Rs.600, Apr=Rs.800. What is the average monthly expense?

    Answer: Rs. 625

    Average = (500+700+600+800)/4 = 2600/4 = Rs. 650.
