Picat — The PICAT (Pre-screening Internet Computerized Adaptive Test) is administered by the U.S. Department of Defense as an unsupervised alternative to the proctored ASVAB; it covers the same eight subtests — Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Arithmetic Reasoning, Mathematics Knowledge, General Science, Electronics Information, Mechanical Comprehension, and Auto & Shop Information — and the AFQT composite score (derived from the first four subtests) must meet each service branch's minimum qualifying threshold (Army: 31, Navy: 35, Marines: 32, Air Force/Space Force: 36, Coast Guard: 40).
