  1. A car rental company charges $35 per day plus $0.20 per mile. If a customer rents for 3 days and drives 150 miles, what is the total charge?

    Answer: $135

    3×$35 = $105; 150×$0.20 = $30; total = $105 + $30 = $135.

  2. A project requires 120 hours of work. Two employees split the work equally. If one works 6 hours per day, how many days will it take her to finish her share?

    Answer: 10 days

    Her share = 120÷2 = 60 hours; 60÷6 = 10 days.

    Answer: $300

    Simple interest = 2500×0.04×3 = $300.

  4. A box contains 5 red, 3 blue, and 2 green pens. If pens are sold at $1.50 each and all are sold, what is the total revenue?

    Answer: $15.00

  7. If 8 printers can print 1,600 pages per hour, how many pages can 5 printers print in 45 minutes?
