  1. What is the area of a parallelogram with a base of 8 cm and a height of 5 cm?

    Answer: 40 cm²

    Area of a parallelogram = base × height = 8 × 5 = 40 cm².

  2. A scale drawing uses 1 in = 4 ft. If a wall is 3 in on the drawing, how long is the actual wall?

    Answer: 12 ft

    Each inch represents 4 ft, so 3 × 4 = 12 ft.

  3. What is the surface area of a cube with edge length 4 cm?

    Answer: 96 cm²

    A cube has 6 faces, so surface area = 6 × 4² = 6 × 16 = 96 cm².

  4. Convert 3.5 liters to milliliters.

    Answer: 3,500 mL

    There are 1,000 mL in a liter, so 3.5 × 1,000 = 3,500 mL.

  5. An isosceles triangle has a vertex angle of 40°. What is the measure of each base angle?

    Answer: 70°

    The two base angles are equal: (180° − 40°) ÷ 2 = 70°.

  6. What is the area of a trapezoid with parallel sides of 6 cm and 10 cm and a height of 4 cm?

    Answer: 32 cm²

    Area = ½(b₁ + b₂) × h = ½(6 + 10) × 4 = 32 cm².

  7. How many feet are in 2 miles? (1 mile = 5,280 ft)

    Answer: 10,560 ft

    2 × 5,280 = 10,560 ft.
