What is the area of a circle with a diameter of 10 m? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 78.5 m²
Radius = 5 m, so area = πr² = 3.14 × 25 = 78.5 m².
Two angles of a triangle measure 50° and 60°. What is the third angle?
Answer: 70°
The angles of a triangle sum to 180°, so 180° − 50° − 60° = 70°.
A cylinder has a radius of 3 cm and a height of 10 cm. What is its volume? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 282.6 cm³
Volume = πr²h = 3.14 × 9 × 10 = 282.6 cm³.
Convert 2,000 grams to kilograms.
Answer: 2 kg
There are 1,000 grams in a kilogram, so 2,000 ÷ 1,000 = 2 kg.
A right triangle has legs of 6 and 8. What is the length of the hypotenuse?
Answer: 10
√(6² + 8²) = √100 = 10.
What is the perimeter of a rectangle that is 9 in long and 4 in wide?
Answer: 26 in
Perimeter = 2(length + width) = 2(9 + 4) = 26 in.
A pair of supplementary angles includes one angle of 120°. What is the other angle?
Answer: 60°
Supplementary angles sum to 180°, so 180° − 120° = 60°.
