  1. A pharmacist needs to prepare 300 mL of a 0.9% NaCl solution. How many grams of NaCl are required?

    Answer: 2.7 g

    0.9% w/v means 0.9 g per 100 mL, so 0.9 × 3 = 2.7 g for 300 mL.

  2. If log₂(x) = 5, what is the value of x?

    Answer: 32

    log₂(x) = 5 means x = 2⁵ = 32.

  3. A car travels 150 miles in 2.5 hours. What is its average speed in miles per hour?

    Answer: 60 mph

    Speed = distance ÷ time = 150 ÷ 2.5 = 60 mph.

  4. What is the value of 4! + 3! − 2!?

    Answer: 28

    4! = 24, 3! = 6, 2! = 2, so 24 + 6 − 2 = 28.

  5. A rectangle has a perimeter of 56 cm and a width of 10 cm. What is its area?

    Answer: 160 cm²

    Length = (56/2) − 10 = 16 cm; area = 16 × 10 = 160 cm².

  6. If a solution is diluted from 500 mL at 40% to a new volume with a final concentration of 10%, what is the new volume?

    Answer: 2,000 mL

    C₁V₁ = C₂V₂ → 40 × 500 = 10 × V₂ → V₂ = 2,000 mL.

  7. The sum of two consecutive even integers is 86. What is the larger integer?

    Answer: 44

    Let the integers be n and n+2; n + (n+2) = 86 → n = 42, so the larger is 44.
