Paintless Dent Repair Tools 2 — Questions and Answers
Question 1: What is the primary purpose of a PDR slide hammer with glue tabs?
- To pull dents outward when there is no rear access (Correct answer)
- To sand down high spots

- To heat the panel before pushing
Correct answer: To pull dents outward when there is no rear access
Glue pulling with a slide hammer or tab puller lifts dents from the outside when the panel's backside is inaccessible.
Question 2: Which tool is used to gently tap down small high spots left after pushing a dent?
- Blending hammer (knockdown) with a tap-down tip (Correct answer)

- Read the dent's depth and shape through light reflection (Correct answer)
- Apply adhesive evenly
- Cool the panel quickly
- Measure paint thickness
Correct answer: Read the dent's depth and shape through light reflection
Line boards cast lines across the panel so the technician can see distortions and track the rod tip.

- Different tip shapes match different dent contours and access points (Correct answer)
- They make rods lighter

- They are only decorative
Correct answer: Different tip shapes match different dent contours and access points
Swappable tips let one rod address varied dent shapes and panel curvatures.
