  1. If the price of sugar increases from Rs. 50 to Rs. 60 per kg, what is the percentage increase?

    Answer: 20%

    Increase = 60 - 50 = 10. Percentage = (10/50) × 100 = 20%.

  2. A man invests Rs. 5,000 at 10% simple interest per annum. What will be the total amount after 3 years?

    Answer: Rs. 6,500

    SI = (5000 × 10 × 3)/100 = 1,500. Total = 5000 + 1500 = Rs. 6,500.

  3. What is the next number in the series: 2, 6, 18, 54, ...?

    Answer: 162

    Each number is multiplied by 3: 2×3=6, 6×3=18, 18×3=54, 54×3=162.

  4. If 5 workers can complete a job in 12 days, how many days will 10 workers take to complete the same job?

    Answer: 6 days

    Total work = 5 × 12 = 60 worker-days. With 10 workers: 60/10 = 6 days.

  5. A rectangular room is 12 meters long and 8 meters wide. What is the area of the room?

    Answer: 96 sq. m

    Area = length × width = 12 × 8 = 96 square meters.

  6. Which fraction is the largest: 3/4, 5/8, 7/12, or 2/3?

    Answer: 3/4

    Converting to decimals: 3/4=0.75, 5/8=0.625, 7/12≈0.583, 2/3≈0.667. The largest is 3/4.
