NBT South Africa VIP Practice Exam (AQL + MAT)
NBT — The National Benchmark Tests (NBT) are standardised assessments administered by CETAP (Centre for Educational Testing for Access and Placement) at the University of Cape Town on behalf of South African universities. The NBT comprises two sittings: the Academic and Quantitative Literacy test (AQL, approximately 70 items, 3 hours) and the Mathematics test (MAT, approximately 60 items, 3 hours). Results are reported in three bands — Proficient (≥65%), Intermediate (50–64%), and Basic (<50%) — and are used by universities for admission decisions and placement into extended curriculum programmes; there is no single national pass/fail mark.
