MCSE — MCSE (Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert) was a family of advanced certifications issued by Microsoft, retired in January 2021 and replaced by role-based certifications; each MCSE track required passing a prerequisite MCSA plus one or more elective exams, with individual exams scored on a 1–1000 scale and a passing threshold of 700 (70%), typically allowing 150–180 minutes for 40–60 questions covering Windows Server, Azure, Hyper-V, Active Directory, networking, storage, and security.
