  1. A job requires 240 feet of conduit. If conduit comes in 10-foot sections, and 10% extra is ordered for waste, how many sections are ordered?

    Answer: 26

    Base need: 240 ÷ 10 = 24 sections. With 10% extra: 24 × 1.10 = 26.4, rounded up to 26 sections.

  2. If voltage is 120V and resistance is 15Ω, using Ohm's Law, what is the current?

    Answer: 8A

    I = V/R = 120 ÷ 15 = 8 amperes.

  3. A rectangular room measures 18 feet by 14 feet. How many square feet of flooring is needed?

    Answer: 252

    Area = length × width = 18 × 14 = 252 square feet.

  4. An electrician completes 2/5 of a job on Monday and 1/3 on Tuesday. What fraction of the job remains?

    Answer: 4/15

    Work done: 2/5 + 1/3 = 6/15 + 5/15 = 11/15. Remaining: 1 - 11/15 = 4/15.

  5. Wire costs $0.85 per foot. How much does 350 feet cost?

    Answer: $297.50

    Cost = $0.85 × 350 = $297.50.

  6. A blueprint uses a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot. A wall measures 3.5 inches on the blueprint. What is the actual length?

    Answer: 14 feet

    Scale: 1/4 inch = 1 foot, so 1 inch = 4 feet. Actual length = 3.5 × 4 = 14 feet.
