What is the area of a rectangle that is 8 feet long and 5 feet wide?
Answer: 40 sq ft
Area of a rectangle = length × width = 8 × 5 = 40 sq ft.
What is the perimeter of a square with a side length of 7 feet?
Answer: 28 ft
Perimeter of a square = 4 × side = 4 × 7 = 28 ft.
What is the area of a triangle with a base of 10 feet and a height of 6 feet?
Answer: 30 sq ft
Area of a triangle = ½ × base × height = ½ × 10 × 6 = 30 sq ft.
A right triangle has legs of 3 ft and 4 ft. What is the length of the hypotenuse?
Answer: 5 ft
By the Pythagorean theorem: √(3² + 4²) = √(9 + 16) = √25 = 5 ft.
What is the circumference of a circle with a diameter of 10 feet? (Use π ≈ 3.14)
Answer: 31.4 ft
Circumference = π × diameter = 3.14 × 10 = 31.4 ft.
What is the volume of a rectangular box that is 4 ft long, 3 ft wide, and 2 ft tall?
Answer: 24 cu ft
Volume = length × width × height = 4 × 3 × 2 = 24 cu ft.
