  1. A Two-Part Analysis question asks you to select two values from one shared answer column. What does this format require you to evaluate?

    Answer: Two related quantities or conditions in a single table

    Two-Part Analysis presents one column of options from which you choose two answers for two related tasks.

  2. A company's revenue R and cost C satisfy R = 5x and C = 2x + 60, where x is units sold. If you must pick values of x that make profit exactly zero and profit equal to 30, what is x for zero profit?

    Answer: 20

    Profit = R - C = 5x - (2x + 60) = 3x - 60; setting to 0 gives x = 20.

  3. Using R = 5x and C = 2x + 60, which value of x makes profit equal to exactly 30?

    Answer: 30

    3x - 60 = 30 gives 3x = 90, so x = 30.

  4. In Two-Part Analysis, a common trap is choosing the same option for both parts. When is selecting the same value for both columns allowed?

    Answer: Only when the question permits it and the value satisfies both conditions

    The same option may be valid for both parts if it independently satisfies each condition and the prompt allows it.

  5. Two trains leave a station; you must find one speed that covers 240 miles in 4 hours and another that covers 240 miles in 6 hours. The first speed is:

    Answer: 60 mph

    Speed = distance/time = 240/4 = 60 mph.

  6. Using the same scenario, the speed covering 240 miles in 6 hours is:

    Answer: 40 mph

    240/6 = 40 mph.

  7. What is the best general strategy for Two-Part Analysis questions involving algebraic conditions?

    Answer: Translate each condition into an equation and test the column values

    Setting up equations for each part and testing the shared options reliably identifies both answers.
